Share your picks in the comments. The Legend of Zelda, originally released in Japan as The Hyrule Fantasy: Zelda no Densetsu, is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo. So until I make the disposable income to start a decent collection, I will be waiting for many titles to become available for download. I play games I don’t have the income as a college student to collect them. Although I would like to play many older titles and broaden my gaming knowledge, I have a very hard time convincing myself it is worth the extra money. This is undeniably a much more affordable option than tracking down a copy on eBay.Įven when the older games I want to play are not outrageously priced because of their rarity, they are often priced similarly to current-gen titles. That title is available on the Japanese PlayStation store for a reasonable 600 yen – roughly six dollars. For example, I have previously mentioned my love of Brave Fencer Musashi. Not only is this an issue with older games, but also with downloadable versions that have not been imported. But, many are still left out of the loop. Playing classics at a reduced price has become even more common with the growing number of downloadable titles available on PSN, XBLA, Steam, and Nintendo’s Virtual Console. Thankfully, the title will be coming to Virtual Console, making the adventure more accessible to those who missed it the first time around. Not only do I not own an SNES, I also don’t have $200 to drop on a copy of the game. Most recently, I desperately want to play the classic RPG Earthbound. Too many games exist that I never tried out – either because I wasn’t old enough to hold a controller or because I just didn’t play a title around its release window. Lately, I have struggled with splitting my time between playing current titles and playing older ones.
